    Very nice capture Lance,
Great exposure, nice blue sky and solid perch. For my taste Lance, I would have done a vertical capture on your little friend...:) Always a pleasure in seeing your work...keep them coming...:D By the way; how is the weather in your neck of the woods???

It is some sort of Kestrel do agree with Harold !!!!

Did well in placing the bird toward one of the corners. Might even take some from the top to get him a tad closer. Small bird in frames do look great when you take them out of the center. Also rather have this arrangement than making a large crop !!!

The light was from your left making the shadow on the left. Always try going for sun angle if possible. When I'm setting up I rather miss the image and go for the very best than make one just for the record.

Gus- it is Cold and Wet - has been all week, which is great as it is putting some water into the river. (No photos on the way to work photo's this week - too rainy)

Alfred - point taken - in my location it is hard to do what you say AND STAY DRY, which is why I have a predipostion to overcast days/ early mornings. Guess I am just going to have to GET WET sometimes (And hope the bird doesn't fly off too soon :) ) Not the best time of the year to be considering it - its been down to -4C here.

Great capture Lance. Great background, and as Al says, bird very well placed in the frame.
    Congrats,

I love the sharpness of the image, the depth of the blue. After looking for quite a long time and trying to find a better crop, I settled on this. Somehow the bird seemed to get lost for me otherwise.
    For what it's worth

Hi Gail - Likewise I played with various crops on this for ages - I like them both.

    Thanks
