Another image from our amazing sighting of the wild dogs playing in the water in the Timbavati Game Reserve, South Africa. It reminds me of kids playing Ring Around the Rosy in a swimming pool.

The lighting, detail and a great sense of fun come through here in spades Rachel, very nice indeed.
All I would wish for is some more width either side if you have it and all faces visible, but would be happy to have this all the same!

Hi Rachel, hard to isolate one moment with these guys as they were all over the place, covering a large area around the dam whilst playing, so good to get what you did, like the interaction and playful antics conveyed. A little more room, yes but obviously limited to the fixed lens as this is almost FF. As I said, often a hard call in what kit to choose in offering the overall flexibility, as they were back and forth in minutes and so you had both distance & close quarter action. Personally I might peg back the WB a fraction (going a fraction cooler), looks a tad warm overall.

Thanks Donovan, Marc and Steve, much appreciated. And yes, no more room on this one.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

Hi Rachel , very nice playful looking scene of the WD , must have been fun to watch .
Under the circumstances you did well in capturing this , agree about being a bit tight.Nice detail and tone , Steve has been there too, regarding the WB. It looks good to me ,a bit warm ok , but i have not been there.

    Well done. TFS Andreas

    Hello Rachel,

I never realised these chaps liked water so much! I have only seen them near the river on one occasion, and the encounter was so brief I did not get the chance to take one image. Delightful scene captured and the techs look great to me, if this was taken in golden afternoon light then the colours should be spot-on, unfortunately I was not there so I leave that to you and Steve. Love the cheerfulness, the playful mood of the wild dogs, great IQ, stunning work Rachel!!!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

    Great action-packed moment, Rachel.
I like that they're all in-frame, and that you at least got one set of eyes looking your way...
