A very young one, judging by all that downy fluff. Nice pose, and I particularly like the color in the tail. The leaves behind him/her are interesting, but a little distracting. I wonder if selectively burning them, or toning down the brightness of the yellow bg channel, might help?
Nice clear shot of this little guy/gal. The techs look good and the pose and HA are perfect. Not sure if I like the ball of leaves right behind the bird but still a good looking capture.
Nice work Karl
Handsome little juvenile in nice light quality Karl. I like the vegetation in the background, particularly those little pinkish shoots that come off the leaves....Regarding composition, one small consideration would be to crop the bottom slightly to eliminate the lichen bump and little broken perch end in the lower left corner....Regarding sharpness, I wonder if the focus sensor locked onto the bird's tail, as the head and body don't seem to show the fine detail that the tail does....Maybe compare this frame with others from the sequence to see if any are sharper around the head/face area.
Thanks David, Bill and Shaw.
Shawn I checked the active focus square, it was sitting on the neck/head area.
Perception of sharpness is sometimes misleading as it is also a function of feather structure.
David and Bill, I removed the yellowish leaves.
