My what loud calls these tiny creatures belt out. It's quite impressive from a distance, so those of you who are familiar with these characters, up close is an earful. Image captured at a local preserve a couple of days ago. C&C welcome.

    D7000, 500mm + 1.4x tc, 1/500, f 7.1, ff @-3.0EV, ISO 1000, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

Few distracting leaves removed in cs6.

Great singing pose. And you got him out in the open.
    Good comp and IQ.
I wonder of there is a way to minimize the impact of the OOF branch to the right of the bird,

Caught him in full voice, Geoffrey. Sometimes they get so carried away that they forget to skulk into the cover of the bushes. I like the way he stands out against the dark green, although I admit the bg might have been nicer without the light swoosh through it. If you were so inclined, you could select the dark green color with the eyedropper, then brush that area with a soft-edged, low opacity brush until you got it to look right.

It's a nice shot of a beautiful bird, i might have cropped it a wee bit closer but that's just me.

Thanks Gail. I might borrow a leaf from outside the frame as cover, but it might weight that area down.

Thanks Bill, and for your suggestion. Might give it a go.
