Artie, this is awesome. I like the spot-light effect, the reflection and the superb detail on the head. Nice angle too!

A much nicer version of what I was trying to capture with my previous beaver posting. Really like the bubbling bow wave. You commented that mine seemed to lack fine detail. While the low light and my settings no doubt had an effect, your close up shows how the water can smooth out the fur and contribute to a loss of fine detail, especially at distance.

Your post brought this image to mind.... Did not do much besides birds in the UK and on Long Island.

Hi Artie - Nice pov, light and exp. Pano is a good choice but any more below to include the entire reflection? I too like the wave/wake but it's got a bit of a cyan cast to my eye. I would reduce it some if it were mine.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Hi Artie , lovely image of the Otter . Pano works nice but agree with Rachel about the full reflection would look better.
Like the overall tones /colors on this one with the right amount of detail/sharpness.I am 50/50 in the blue/cyan in the wave , reducing a tad could help but would not totally eliminate them.

Hi Artie, crop works nicely and I really like the bow wave. Just a thought, but how about going slightly darker for the BKG, not black, just a little darker?

For the full reflectioners: I do not like including full reflections that peter out; that was the case here. As for the CYAN cast, the water was very green :) So for me the CYAN cast there is a big plus.

Love the detail on the face and the vibrant colours, Artie. Last repost ticks it for me...

The RP works for me Artie, think it just emphasises the light more.
