Ellies at dusk, On the way to water hole in Etosha. I liked the soft light, soft focus look.

I cannot imagine better framing for an image like this Ben, l really like the composition and the soft focus adds a dreamy quality to the whole scene. Love the light and there's a touch of pink in it which I find very charming, IQ not bad for 1/100s and my guess is you had some sort of support-did you shoot from the car or were you on foot? I was at first tempted to ask you to add a tad of contrast to the ellies, but obviously you aimed for a certain look and feel - it does work for me as is yet I still feel there is room to play, would love to see another version of this whenever possible

    Kind regards,

Hi Ben - July's theme is silhouettes. The multiple animal theme is for August. That being said I like the soft light and the soft focus works with the dust. I do wish for a bit more separation among the elephants, a little more room on the right and perhaps a slightly lower pov. It seems like you may have been slightly above them. The raised trunk is a nice touch.

I like the framing and am OK with the three on the right as the trunk positions are so nice, esp. the 3rd one raised so high. I do not mind the soft light on the right side of the right-hand animals but find the shadow on the left hand animal to be a distraction....
