I appreciate this image is just a fraction too late, that is because I should have had more faith in the camera, I saw this godwit and sensed it was going to take off I decided the camera would not be quick enough, I delayed, I saw it take off, then I decided to go for it. I used DPP4 for the conversion.
    All C&C welcome.

I want to like this Jon, but it isn't working for me. The subject is certainly interesting, and the image is well composed and exposed, and it is sharp. The background is good. But the bird is flying away; delay was not good here. And there are some trailing black flecks (water drops?) behind the bird's feet that I would clone away.

I am good with the flying away pose and I like the trailing mud very much with the muddy tootsies. I wish the near wing were just a little higher to show more of the face.

I guess everyone of us would wish you could have nailed this one earlier. DPP4 conversion looks very clean. Cheers, Ian.
