Default A family portrait... say Red-necked Grebes

Taken last month in Toronto, Ontario. This is the second year that this pair have nested here. They had 4 chicks this year and I believe it was 5 last year.

    Thank you for looking.

    Hi Ramon,
    Lovely family portrait.
Good IQ and you have good head angles on all the birds.
    Great green painterly water BG.
I know that you have no control over this but if I had one wish it would be that the chicks' heads on the left did not merge.
Good DOF and would sharpen the eye and head of the nearest chick a little bit,
    Gail

This is a family portrait that I DREAM about!!! I have never seen one with 4 chicks and they are all sharp in great light and all at the nest! I am good with the chicks' heads merging on the left. I would dodge (lighten) the adults eye just a little bit to show a little more of the catchlight since her eye is an important piece of the puzzle. This one needs to be printed and put on your wall!!!!

I am so impressed and inspired by this image. Marina has a great suggestion regarding the adult's eye, but aside from that, I'd be thrilled to have this image in my collection.

This is oh-so cute! Great light, and you got good head angles on all chicks. If mine I'd be tempted to give the lower edge a cleaner finish by eliminating the blues lines down there. It also looks like you may have cloned out something in the water between the adult and right edge, worth cleaning up. Great looking nest you guys had to photograph at that spot!!
