Nice morning colors, the slight head turn and mouthful of grass add a nice touch. If this is a white rhino it's a good example of how they got their name (wide lips.) I like the shadowed brush of the BG. Would tone down the bright branch above the head.

Hi Rachel, lucky you that you saw such a precious little thing. beautiful light. I'm hoping you would have more pictures of this youngster and Mom. As for the image itself, I wish for a more profile view when you should wide. The rhino occupies a small portion of the frame in this pose and the black portion of the environment isn't ideal. Hope to see more. TFS. Loi

Hi Rachel always good to see they still make their lives go on .
Very cute looking Rhino in great morning light.I like the overall comp with the placement of the rhino.Colors and tone look good overall . I would just knock back the blues (rhino) and magentas (left shadow).I think the rhino can stand some more tonal variation , just me seeing this.

Hi Rachel, a good sighting indeed, and then it got better...
Gorgeous light for sure and I like the choice of crop & framing, with good space to the RHS. I would lose the bright branch as it is distracting.

Hi Rachel,
ah a little one, very nice to see that. Depends now, I might would throw in a bit more blacks on the calf skin itself to bring out a bit more detail, or however you handle that
Lovely sighting for sure

Very cute in great light, Rachel.
I would have liked a version a tad better though with the rhino in front of the dark patches of BG, do you have some?

Thanks Morkel, I'll have to check. The calf wasn't the most cooperative subject, keeping its head down in most shots.
Thanks again,
Rachel

Yeah that's my experience with most rhinos. Very preoccupied with grazing for some reason, you'd think the grass is nutritious or something
