    Default Pine Grosbeak

With the great Grosbeak invasion of this winter many people have had their best photographs yet with these tame beauties. I had a few opportunities with some females and juveniles, then finally some adult males came down to eye level (and with a pleasing background too)

Nice details and perch, Daniel. It really is such a great year for winter finches. I just checked this afternoon if my local pine grosbeaks are still around. The food is still abundant and I hope to get some more images.

Beautiful bird, Daniel and nice perch. I would clone out the clipped fruit in the top right.

Some people may prefer a clean bill, but hey, the was eating :)

I may go back on the sharpening a bit.

Thanks for sharing this and congratulations on getting one in the open :)

    Hi Daniel,

You have a very nice image here, sharp and full of colors. I have mixed feelings about the berry behind your subject but that would be it.

    Daniel,

After looking at the image one more time, I think I like the berry behind the bird. :)

Just a beautiful composition Jim and IMO I like the berry behind the bird as I think it gives it a very nice balance. However I agree with Fab about the OOF berries in the top right hand corner. Otherwise a wonderful image !!! Congratulations !!!

Really nice Dan. It sure has been a great year for these guys. I like how the branches frame the bird in this image. Well done!

Well captured Dan. I like how the bird pops against the OOF background.

It looks like you got there on another sunny day. I always seemed to be there under cloudy conditions.

Very nice image, Daniel. I also think the sharpening is a little much. You can notice it around his neck area...no other nits from me.
