Default Stacked TCs and the 40D

I have heard of pink elephants but not of pink suns... Canon 500mm f/4L IS lens with 1.4 and 2X II TCs and the EOS 40D. Manual focus. ISO 800. Evaluative metering +2/3 stop: 1/500 sec. at f/8.

With the sun on the horizon a tern, a Royal Tern I believe, flared upwards.

Awesome, Artie! I really like how the sun puddles on the horizon. The tern is a nice touch.

I noticed that you have been using the 40D lately. :)

Last week at the Alligator Farm I was part of a team creating an educational video on the 40D. The more I used it the more I liked it. It will be a few months more in editing and production. We will let folks know via Bulletin when it is posted.

    later and love, artie

That bulbous distortion of the sun, the unexpected color and atmospheric light path to the horizon is breathtaking, Artie.
You've inspired me to get my 40D out of the bag and onto the lenses.
I look forward with anticipation to your review of this wonderful tool.
