    Default Grasshopper Sparrow #2

Little over two weeks ago I returned to the same local preserve that I had previously photographed and posted another image of a GRSP. This image, in early evening, was the one taken while I was being serenaded by the Song Sparrow I posted the other day. As I approached very slowly I quickly became aware he or she was going to stay on this perch also calling in its beautiful trailing off call. May have been protecting a nest. C&C welcome.

Few distracting twigs removed in cs6.

This is a nice bird and with a nice habitat. The lavender flowers add to the image. TFS

Lovely image. I really like the head turn, and the environment is fantastic!

Sweet soft light quality. Beautiful mix of plants in this image with plenty of space for the eyes to wander in a pleasing way. I enjoy your crop choice too. Handsome sparrow that is definitely one of my top five most desired sparrow species.

I'm really enjoying the habitat here Geoffrey. Those flowers in the fg and bg add a ton of depth. The sparrow is gorgeous and I like the high placement in the frame. Lovely.

Another handsome Grasshopper Sparrow image, Geoffrey. With this look-back pose I might normally have moved the bird further to the right, but with such a lovely environment to the right, this comp works very nicely. Love the purple clover.
