This image was taken high up in the mountains on the isle of Madeira. I tidied the background slightly and cropped the image to exclude a lot of dead flower heads. I slightly desaturated the bloom it is perched upon.
    All C&C welcome.

Beautiful texture and detail on the butterfly!

What would you think about removing the OOF bud along the bottom and the three straight stalk segments coming in from the left edge, that don't seem to be connected to anything?

Hi Jon. You captured a very nice pose with excellent sharpness and handled those tricky yellows very well. I would agree with Diane's suggestions above and I might also suggest cropping a little off the right - to put the butterfly closer to a ROT position. Being a picky viewer, there appears to be some cloning artifacts above the upper most blossom that could easily be cleared up. Overall, this is a very nice image that would be worth a few minor tweaks to make it better.

I love the way the yellow colour of the butterfly and flower stand out against the neutral background Jonathan
