Hi all, just back from a fantastic family vacation to Nova Scotia. Although mostly for family activities I did manage a few wildlife photos of course. This one is from a whale tour excursion that the kids (and parents) fully enjoyed. I caught a lucky break when a group of three Pilot Whales jumped together and I reacted fast enough to get a 5-image series of it (this is image #2 of that sequence). The one in the middle is a calf.

Canon 7D + 100-400L @340mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1600s., f/7.1, ISO 800, natural light, cropped for composition.

Hi Daniel - great timing. Love the blue color and the bubble around the one on the right. It's difficult to get the timing right, especially from a moving boat so congrats on this one.

Dan, the timing is what makes this image, you did very well with burst shooting & I am sure the flexibility of the zoom helped framing too. I like it.

Cool image Daniel, nice control of the highlights in the water. Love the overall colour & atmosphere in this, nicely framed too.

Hi Daniel you had a nice timing when taking the shots .
Like the comp ,colors and tones . But i feel the image needs a bit of a crack ...... meaning punch . Missing some blacks /clarity , maybe it is just me .

    Like this shot a lot.

Great image, good detail and you handled the highlights very well in the water. Nice colour and tone too.
