I like the black silhouettes against the beautiful sky. The textures create a colorful and interesting sky, which I love. The similar but slightly different poses of the herons are a nice play on shape. I would remove the two branches along bottom that don't have a bird perched on them--to my eye, they are distracting. I've never used the Threshold filter. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. You did a great job with it.

Hi Jackie- the color range is captivating, a bit like a subtle rendition of the Northern Lights. The silhouette is strong and balanced, I sort of prefer the odd branches as they break the symmetry of the flip. Only critique would be to crop out the far right edge where there's a vertical line-it's a bit distracting. Nicely done!

Looks very realistic, lovely silhouette. Great thinking, stars are lovely.

Jackie, this is just gorgeous! Great thinking and execution! Can't think of anything to add to the above, except that I think I might like the leafy branch at the bottom. Maybe if there were a bit more of it?? I'd leave the unoccupied stump, to remove the quasi-symmetry. I would crop or clone that vertical line. It would work as a framing element if a similar line appeared on the left.
Just noticed a squiggle in the UL -- is it a signature? Once I saw it I couldn't not see it. Not clear enough to see what it is and move on.

Hi Jackie, this is really nice and I like the overall design a lot. The background is really pretty. I think I would just lose the little leafy branches and keep the rest, I think that would work well. So interesting to see the different ideas being suggested, to me that means you have a very interesting image with lots of possibilities.

So it looks like pruning out the leafy smaller branch, thanks for the comments!

An alternate version of this could be to extend canvas a little at the bottom and add a silhouetted "horizon" of some sort -- something simple -- to provide a base.
It's excellent as is, but that might be an interesting idea to play with.

I like the idea Dianne. I like this well enough to try that. Thanks for the suggestion.
