Gorgeous image of beautiful looking owl in very sweet lights. Tack sharp, very nicely exposed with beautiful colors. Superb backdrop and composition.

Wow, awesome image Loi! Great light, super detail and lovely pose and background. (The only small thing is that I find the twigs to the right of the owl a little distracting. Would have been even more awesome if those were not there)

Gorgeous Loi, although I do have a soft spot for this subject . The 500 works well to create that nice diffused/compressed BKG to help separate the subject, killer light. The kit combination worked with good space.

Hi Loi very nice shot with killer BKG , great soft light. Well exposed and nice tones overall . I might think about dropping the blues a fraction, not loosing them completely .

Sweet pose and you handled the side light nicely. The image looks to me to have a red-cast but the folks at NECCC might have screwed up my calibration when the calibrated the projector.... Is anyone else seeing a large red cast???

Hi Artie, the rising sun at Salton Sea at that time of year has a very strong red cast, so I left the red cast in. I have also noticed a color shift from PS6 to BPN posting depending on which browser I use even seen from the same monitor. I have not figured this out yet as I processed image with sRGB color profile. I agree that the red cast is strong though and will work on different version to see. I have not tried the latest DDP version, yet, so now is the time. I converted the image in LR5.

    thank you for your comments.

A great stare, beautiful early light, nice detail. Fine image. The few bits of oof clutter to our right of the bird are a bit unfortunate. My reaction was a little of a magenta cast -- I might be tempted to push the slider just a point or two toward green - but you were there and (alas!) I wasn't.

Hi Everyone, thank you for your comments. I think I have finally figured out the reason for the color shift when posting. I got a new computer and when i re-loaded PS6, I thought I had set the color space to sRGB, but in fact I only did that for the source, not the destination. Here is a RP.

Bill, good job for catching the magenta cast. There is in deed a magenta cast in the shadow area of the owl, I reduced it.

Thank you Artie for calling out the strong red cast. It wasn't there in PS6 and hopefully this RP addressed that issue. I left the natural Red cast due to the early sunrise.

Thank you, your comments are much appreciated.

Well, that still does not fix it. I still see a strong color shift from PS6. Will need to re-check everything again. Loi

Loi, have you checked Colour settings? Top menu bar in PS > EDIT > Colour Settings, this may have gone to default perhaps and therefore you need to change it, just a thought? Let me know, I can send you a screen grab if need be.

Ok, I got it. My PS6 working space was set to sRGB, not Adobe RGB (1998). I followed Steve's help and reset the Color Settings in my PS6, now the colors of PS6 and the browser match. Thanks again Steve. Loi
