    Default Mourning dove

I can't seem to get any farther than my deck lately for shooting birds, and the variety is limited. But there were some soft clouds this morning (not common here) so I had to set up and see what I could get. Attracted to a feeder and water.

Canon 5D3, 600 II, big Gitzo and Wimberley II head. ISO 1600, 1/500 at f/10. About 90% of full frame. Basic adjustments in LR5, and to PS to clone out a very small corner of a seed dish in the LR, NR on BG and some sharpening to the head.

    C&C always appreciated!

Nice soft light and great DOF with a very pleasing BG.
I might take a bit off the right hand side to get rid of some of the OOF branch.
Good IQ and lovely head turn,
    Gail

Hi Diane. Great shot. Like the pose and position of the bird on the perch with beautiful eye contact! Well done BG and maybe a bit of contrast (mid tones curve adjustment) to the bird can be added. TFS. Cheers! Miro

Beautiful bird, Diane, well captured as usual by you. If it were mine, I might crop a little off the right and left sides, taking care to retain all of the tip of the perch on the left. I'd like to see more sharpness in the perch, but at ISO 1600 you clearly had a light problem. I always look forward to and enjoy your posts.
