I hope you have a portrait of them separately, what wonderful subjects. Would be nice to have the whole mane to balance things out, but grass is always our enemy! Love the subtle colours and that stick...

Beautiful control of depth of field resulting in a great image. I agree in a perfect world there would be a little more mane, but it is a stunning image regardless

Hi Morkel - Love those eyes staring at the viewer. I too wish for a bit more below to have the whole mane but understand why you cropped. Great image design.

I love tight portraits of big cats and this one is superb in every way. I like your comp, the color tones and the great amount of detail you have captured. TFS.

I think the overall image is really great and the crop for me is well done. The eye is drawn to the male with the stick and the soft BG and other animals compliment this.
Morkel did ever receive the pm I sent you before you left for KZN?

Hi Morkel , very nice one in all terms , just me is wishing a bit more tonal depth in parts of the frame .I quite like the juxta? pose of the two , makes this more interesting and giving a more 3 dimensional feel.
I very much like the grass stem of the front lion, make this different to other shots .
Very nice job , Morkel .

Hi Morkel, really like the DoF and balance of the two lions. Good detail, but would also like a fraction more tonal depth, nice sharpness where it counts. Personally I would have preferred a bit more below as I feel it just a fraction too tight to the chin, but understand the reasons why you cropped as you did.

Hi Morkel, love the composition of the two lion portraits. The one in the BG provides the depth. I'm with Steve in that I would prefer a bit more of the bottom, but overall a great image. Loi

A very nice portrait that I'm sure their mother would love to have on her mantle. Top notch tones and texture.
