    The pickings around Miami are getting slim, but the burrowing owls are plentiful. These are very tame and are a family of six.
    1D MarkIII, 70-200 f/2.5 with 2X. ISO800, f6.3, 1/1250 no exp compensation,

    I like the unusual setting and intense look. Shouldn't this little guy be on the ground? :)

    The image looks a bit bright on my monitor and if it is not full frame, I would give it more room at the right side since the wing is clipped.

    This little guy was indeed on the ground. A very small tree is right near his burrow. Occasionally, when nervous, he heads for the tree.

    You did well finding a relatively clear slot to the face. Had you moved a half step to your left the merge of the single leaf and the bird's head would have been avoided.
