    Hi folks just making a quick move to Avian from Wildlife , hope you do not mind .

    Image taken in Etosha NP .The kite was watching a mouse down in the shrubs .

    Canon EOS 1D MK IV
    EF 500 IS L + 1,4 TC
    Window bracket + Gitzo Fluid Head

    F 8 ; Iso 800 ; 1/ 2500 sec

    Processed in Photo Ninja and PS CC , cropped for comp from all sides. Removed some elements from corners .

    C&C welcome and appreciated , LAB analysis is welcome , too. .

    Nice sharp face and eye, cool look down pose and good exposure control. The thorny perch is unique and I like the tighter comp on this. Well done

    Hi Andreas, you are more than welcome to pop in here anytime time you so wish. Just love the intent stare, he is surely fixated on something below. Im amazed how this fellow, and any other bird manages to perch on perches that are full of thorns/spikes and not injure themselves. I thought their eyes were more redder/darker.

    Stu i know but there is a time limitation , not for swinging by and posting, but for editing the birdies , so many just stay on my HD ........... and die , not really but you know what i mean . And i feel there are many folks who have better bird shots , so think they stay where they are dying .
    Regarding the eye , i have lightened the eye , maybe a tad too much .

    Nice work but for me the crop is a bit too tight.
