I always take my camera gear out in my bass boat and I'm really glad I did on this particular morning. I heard a male Bunting in a cove and let my boat drift underneath a large oak tree overhanging the shallow water, then used my cell phone to play a Bunting song and he came right in. At times he was closer than my MFD and had to wait.
Thanks Miro. I agree the background is far from perfect and is was untouched in post. I did consider trying to smooth it out a bit and maybe mute the bright blue sky to make it less distracting but wasn't too sure.
I don't mind the BG -- the colorful bird dominates it. I wish that piece of the OOF twig wasn't there -- right under the body. Were you able to get different angles on him? Sounds like maybe not. Or a more standing pose?
At any rate, a very nice captrue in less than studio conditions -- nice you got him to come out.
I did think about removing that twig but wasn't sure if I could without making it look strange. Yes, that pretty much is the only pose I got in the series although I took many PB images last week.
Superb image of handsome and colorful bunting.I don't mind BG. Nice pose, beautiful colors, fine details and interesting perch.
Nice composition too.I also wish OOF branch should not have there, just below the bird blocking the legs.
