Wild Duck, take off
5DIII, 600 II L + 1.4TC III, tripod (folded) + gimbal (all together mounted on the home made raft and I was in the water), 840mm, 1/1600s, f5.6, ISO400
PP: add some blur and NR in BG, tone and color balance, selective sharpen.
Full size: 4472 x 2810 pixels
location: Croatia, a pond near Zagreb.
This is take off so I guess the wings in down position could be an issue.

Thanks for viewing, C&C. Cheers! Miro

Miro:
Wonderful shooting angle from your 'raft', nice light on bird and bg. Splash and flapping feet good.
Although the wing position isn't ideal to show their detail, it is what you get during the take off, so I am good with it!

Excellent low shooting angle, great dynamic image. I hope the raft is stable enough.

Amazing image Miro! Great low angle, love the light, superb IQ. I would love to see an image of your 'raft' in action :-)

Thanks. I made a raft of 2" tick hard styrofoam painted in brown color. I made 2 shots with my mobile, hope it helps. Cheers! Miro

That's a great unique shooting angle for a waterfowl take off shot. Yes, the wing position is not ideal but the angle and the detail make up for it. Very nice work and I like the raft too.

Hi Miro, I really like this perspective shooting from the water, and Im fine with the take off pose. Those colours of the BG really stand out so well. If this were mine, I would take a bit off the bottom.

Awesome take off image, the low angle is great. Wings don't bother me. Thanks for sharing the raft set up, is this something that you wade in the water with or how exactly does this work?

Thanks. The main task of the raft is to keep the camera and lens dry. Yes, I wade in the water or swim and push the raft to reach the place for recording. Cheers! Miro
