nice shot of this little fellow. It seems rather soft to my eyes. And also I wish the branch was a tad bit longer, so a slight bit more room at the bottom of the image.
It is a cutie, but a little soft. 1/160 sec at 500mm is skating on thin ice. Technique, even with a tripod, is critical at focal lengths like that.
I'd go back to the raw file and see if I could get more detail in the whites in the neck, and check out other color balance options. This is on the green/cyan side, even if in shade. Would love to see a repost!
As the others have mentioned, the photo is a bit soft. It may be that the original RAW file just isn't sharp enough to crop so much. I like the clean background, but perhaps a little space towards the bottom of the frame would be more pleasing to the eyes.
Even on the original it seems soft. I these guys behave anything like the Black Capped chickadees around me 1/160th was probably not fast enough to freeze the bird. They always seem to constantly move and twitch.
Much better color here, but I prefer the original crop. I'd leave as much of the branch as I could and still crop out the horizontal part. That's just a hair more than your original.
This might be one where the JPEG could profit from a bit of sharpening. Or sometimes the original can be sharpened very subtly more in LR/ACR. Or both. But caution about sharpening the master file -- the sharpening generally available to us is done with artifacts.
