A lovely cormorant shot, Sanjeev. Great detail and exposure on the feathers, nice colors, gorgeous BG with the green well placed behind the bird. This also documents the real menace that monofilament presents to avian life. I'm glad that this didn't show the bird entangled in the line, as I've seen too many times.

I really like the good DOF and the lovely BG. Good IQ.
The log, unfortunately, overwhelms the cormorant. I would be inclined (pardon the pun) to rotate the image CCW about 5 degrees and crop up a bit.( I realize the image is probably level as you saw it)
I was so focused on the log that I did not see the fishing line initially. I think this image tells a powerful story and would really try to emphasize the fishing line by somehow minimizing the log,
    Gail

I don't know how I would deal with the log -- maybe with all the line, it's part of the sad story. Maybe a little crop from the bottom, and a little rotation. But I love the feather detail!

Excellent image of beautiful cormorant with lovely eye.Very nicely pops up against beautiful BG.
Agree with Gail's advice. Also would tone down the upper edge of log.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Thanks everyone! I too fell sad reg the fishing nets/lines that are used and fell pained as it is indeed a threat to avian species. I will take your suggestions and make the necessary adjustments to the image.

Hi Sanjeev, excellent exposure on the cormorant, as you have shown up the feather detail so well. Great eye, and overall, good DOF on the cormorant too.
