A day late and a dollar short, but this is a blur I made in PS, using the motion blur filter. I spent the last week editing and sorting 3,000 images I made at a dog trail event. This little Papillon was so frenetic I thought the blur worked well for it. I adjusted the motion angle to match the angle of the dog's coat as it was flying around. I masked back some of the face to create a focal point for the image.

Love those flying ears! Great interesting composition with dog & bkgd all on the diagonal. That and the blur, plus those wide eyes and hanging tongue certainly conveys the hyper-activity! Good to mask back in the face for a focal point, as you said. I like the totally different set of bkgd colors nicely setting off the black & white of the dog. Well done and processed.

Oh my! 3,000 images sorted in a weekend. You should feel righteous!

Excellent processing on a perfect subject!

I don't know anything about dog events, but if there is an endurance award, you should get it for sorting through 3000 images! That is mind-boggling.

Kerry, you're a brave soul This certainly captures the exuberance of Papillons! Love the blur. I really enjoy agility trials but I'm positive I wouldn't want to photograph one

You did a nice job with this blur. The angle is right. The effect is to give a feeling of happy motion.

I really like this Kerry, perfect angle, and great sense of motion.
