D4 with 600mm on lowered tripod. 1/1,000 sec, f4 iso 1,000, full frame. Taken just before sunset on North Beach in Ft. DeSoto. This fellow was on a mission and just walked right on his way. I like the almost monochromatic coloring of this shot.

NR on the the background and I tried Arash's NR technique on the bird. A bit of Nik Detail Extractor and Tonal Contrast on the bird, as well as sharpening and removal of a couple of dust spots.

    Comments welcome, thanks for looking.

Very nice John, I like the way the colours of the bird blend in with the BG. I also like the BG blending with the FG. The OOF front leg may concern some, but I love the image. Well done

Great walking pose, and I, too, like the sepiatone feeling. Nice PP work on the detail. Sure, it would have been nice to have the rear leg sharper, but a lovely shot as is, with great low POV.

I like the exposure but the OOF off leg knock it down a few notches for me.

Thanks for your comments. I think if the leading leg had been the left one, the oof right leg might have been less noticeable. Will try to stop down next time.
