This was taken in Bosque 2013 of a snow geese blast off. I inverted in in PS. 1/25 sec., f/5.6, ISO 100 with the Canon 100-400mm @ 365mm on the Canon 5D Mark III.

    Cheryl,

Greetings. Interesting. I know what this is but still... can't quite place it. The inversion seems to increase the feeling of depth and highlights the motion over the form (I took a look at it re-inverted). Ah, but you can't look at it too long without getting visual ghosting (is that in the photo or is it just my eyes?). Thanks for posting.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Very cool! Good comp with the density of birds at the bottom, and becoming less as you move towards the top. I like that the pale blurs of the wings are lots of triangle & trapezoid-type shapes. For me those vague geometric shapes give this a bit of structure amid the seemingly chaos of activity.

Interesting. I like the inversion. The grouping of birds in the frame isn't the best. A clever idea.

This one really grabs me -- I love it! Very ghost-like. Interesting point Nancy made about the geometric shapes. We usually get more blurred wings without defined edges.

Wonder how it would look if some of the birds that are cut by the frame were cloned out?
