My First Yellow Warbler. The light was dusk so no direct light, wish I had a lot more depth of field for the beak area.

Hi Dvir, nice warbler with a nice head turn! I like the posse and the BG, just find that dark area above the warblers head a bit distracting. As for the DOF, where did you focus? Seems to me that the focus was on the chest, perhaps explaining the lack of sharpness you refer for the beak..

Warblers seem to enjoy spending there time under dense cover. I just feel the parch the warbler is on may look better coming out of the lower right corner of the frame in this one (or closer to the corner). This one was tough because you wanted to keep a fast shutter speed to freeze the bird but with f4.5 the whole bird is not in focus. I like the head angle and the area in focus is sharp. Do you know where you focused on this one?

It's an engaging pose, but as noted above, the focus is an issue. Seems to be on the top of the back, just below the neck.

Thanks all for the reply. The focus point was on the eye, maybe slightly leaning towards the neck. If the aperture was F/8, I think it would have been all in focus. I will try again with this one, but I was happy to actually finally capture one.

And congratulations on your first warbler capture, Dvir. Sorry I neglected to mention it initially. I know well the thrill of new achievements such as this one.
