This is a beautiful piece of editing Stuart. The pinks and streaks of red are wonderful as is the head turn. I like that you have masked in the original eye.

    Stuart,

Greetings. The color and lighting against the bg are particularly cool. Feels tight on top and left to me. Thanks for posting.

    Cheers,

Hi, Stuart, I like everything about this one. Just the right amount of oil paint and the colors are wonderful.

As they say over in the Avian Forum, great Head Angle! This bird is really giving you the eye, and I like that you masked it from the oil paint effect so it stayed sharp and bright. Beautiful contrast of the pink with the dark blues, and just the right amount of oil paint for the interesting swirl-like effect. I agree with Michael that it could use just a bit more room on the top and left. Again, another great water-bird image.

Stuart, I agree with critiquing suggestions above, this one has nice lighting, tones and interacts with the viewer. Only additional suggestion would be a slight dodge on the lower 1/3 of the bill to help separate it from the background. (flat area not hit by the light). Nice one!
