    Default Black Necked Stilt

I've been trying to get a shot of the stilt that does a good job of controlling the contrast. Too often, the lighting is either too flat and the feather detail doesn't show well, or too contrasty and details are lost in the shadows. I think this one is finally a result that does a good job of straddling the middle. What do you think?

I think you did a good job with your contrast work, Grant. I'm looking at this on a crummy monitor at work, but I think the head might be a bit soft. Where was your focus point?

Beautiful light and your contrast levels appear good, Grant. I agree with Ian regarding the head being soft.

Yes, the exposure and contrast looks good ...as well as the colours and light. Perfect head angle. I too find the face a tad soft, srely a bit more sharpening there will work. I'd also add back some canvas if you have it as the BG is very beautiful.
