    Default Theme: Surprise Blur

Blur from a surprisingly long exposure (about 500 times longer than planned ;-)...

    D4 200/f2 at f/4.5 ISO 6400 1.0 sec.

What happens when you have a shot lined up with a 200f2 lens HH and the lighting director fades the lights to black, uh, a lot sooner and a lot quicker than expected. I like to think that some of the bounce is from the surprise of the shutter being open so long rather than my steady hand at its best.

    Some NR, toning, Topaz Simplify.

    Thanks for looking.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

What an fabulous surprise! I love this!! The blur really emphasizes the tension & movement of the body in this stretched pose and makes the viewer feel it as well. Love the hands.

A moment captured in time, a lovely surprise. Blurs come in all forms some planned, others accidental, well done

It happens so often that an unplanned image makes our day. You really got a nice surprise with this one. I like the enhanced sense of motion and the extension of the arms and legs. Very cool!

Nancy, Paul, Kerry, Peter, Jackie, Diane, Cheryl,

Thanks much for you comments. They are much appreciated. You might be interested in seeing the un-blurred version (at least one from the rehearsal)...

I think she pushed it more for the performance (the OP).

Thanks, Cheryl... I'll post one or two more dance blurs....

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Thanks for posting both images. The blurred one works very well.
