Taking a break from the Little owl posting, (too much to process at present and I need to give them a break), so here is a Puffin, affectionally known as the 'Clown bird'. Just like the quirkiness and the angle of the grass edge.

    Cheers
    Steve

Cracking shot Steve, love the detail, processed perfectly. I'm on Skomer in a couple of weeks and will be more than happy if I come back with something of this quality

Never sure with head on puffins, not much eye contact, but I do like this.

Very appealing image, Steve. Very nice control or elimination of noise. Would certainly like to see a portrait version of this with the grass the lower half or more of the image.

    Steve:

This is very nice, and a very different take on a puffin. Excellent exposure, detail, dof.

Just for fun, I could see a version with a bit cropped off the right side, so that the head mass balanced a bit differently against the grass mass.

    Cheers

Cool looking head on pose with nice detail and excellent exposure. I like the grass in the FG. Well done Steve.

I like it just as it is. Nice job with the DOF. These guys are so much fun to photograph.
