    Default Nine & Ninety Nine

Hi all, it's been a while-too long in fact. It's been a hectic season so far.

Here's another unpublished shot(until recently) from 2012 It's 92% Full frame, only a sliver off the top and a little off the right. This one needs more room, I just haven't figured out an approach that I like. Thinking of a composite where the cars are only part of the overall image, or using a blended texture to extend the frame. Topaz Adjust, multiple applications on multiple layers and blend modes along with small doses of twist and pinch. I'll get caught up with comments on threads during the day, there are some amazing works posted!. All C&C welcome and appreciated.

The blurred wheels give a good sense of action. So does the angle of the cars. I think I like the tight crop with the wheels so close to the frame. It looks like they're about to burst out of it. Hmmm. I wonder about putting the front of the wheel on our left and the bottom of the wheel on our right out of the box. Or even doing an overlay with a torn opening with the cars coming through it. (I think I'm suffering from withdrawal because of not having created any images in the last few weeks.)

Excellent suggestion Dennis, I had forgotten about that treatment-it does seem appropriate and would give some of these frame filling close-ups additional space and dimension.

Hi, Randall, good to see you back posting. I like the OP but Dennis' suggestions sound intriguing. Hopefully you'll get the time to try it out.

The cars on the diagonal give this an interesting and in-your-face feeling. I like the impact from most of the color being on the front car and just enough color on the second to keep it integrated into the image but not competing. I also like the detail of the mud spatters on the front of the first car. Makes it that rough and ready look!

Nice action captured and I like the blurred wheels that contrast with the sharp detail elsewhere. Some good thoughts expressed above, maybe you'll have a chance to try them out. Looks like you have some exciting photo shoots!

Perfect blend of blur, grit and sharp! I don't really relate to car racing (except when I'm chasing a sunrise) but I love this one!

I really like the style you have developed for processing these photos. The limited colors helps me focus on the main subjects. A bit more space on the left would be nice, but the image works as it is.
