Thes small aspen grove caught my eye while visiting the Black Hills of South Dakota this spring. The image was minimally manipulated in PS. I did add a bit of Norton effect.

Very nice Gary, I like precision of the vertical pan blur and layers of color and texture. I really enjoy this type of blur, it looks like a painting. Nice job!

Gary, I've always like images such as this though I've failed miserably every time I try to create one. Agree with Kerry, it's very painterly. This one has a soft palette, it's easy on the eyes. Composition is strong and colors are soothing. Can't help but wonder how this would look "stretched" into a long vertical. Nicely done!

Gary, I really like the painterly look. I think I would crop from the top and eliminate the v-shaped branch at the top. I also tried a levels adjustment to lighten it up just a tad. But I'm a big fan of soft color palettes so the OP is also fine. (I didn't do the crop just the levels adjustment on the repost). Actually I really like the height of the image before the crop so I'd probably just eliminate the branch.

I like the lightened version better, very nice blur.

Well blurred! I really like the layers of colors, from the tan-greens of the grasses to the dark bases of the trunks and up to the lovely spring greens of the leaves. Having those few white trunks extending upwards adds nice vertical details, and breaks up the solidness of the leaves. I really can't decide between the two versions!

I love the RP -- looks like a wall-hanging tapestry! The vertical crop fits with the vertical movement of the trees.

The blur works very well. The tree trunks going from dark to light add lots of interest. Lovely spring green. Have you considered not letting the tree trunks/branches reach the top edge? The feeling evoked is both peaceful and alive.

Thanks for the look and comment Anita. The tree tops have a broad unattractive grey fringe against a mundane grey sky; therefore, not included.

I did not express myself well. What I meant was that in your image, some of the tree trunks go all the way to the top edge. I wondered what it would look like if you cloned them so that would not occur. Here is a quick example of what I had in mind.
