This family of common loons was imaged in northern Michigan last year. No chicks this year unfortunately.

Post: minor crop for leveling, removed several bugs flying around, selective sharpening

    Advice and comments always appreciated.

Highly appealing family portrait!! I love the pano crop here, and the three head angles work well together. If anything I'd work on the pupil on the little guy at our right. Great stuff, but pity on the unsuccessful breeding year at that spot :-(

Hi Randy, shooting from your boat really gets us down to their level on the water, and just love the inquisitive look from the youngster on the back. Great HA from the parent, and I do like all the different shades of green throughout the image. I like this lots.

Total beauty, Randy.... I sense that you are being "Loon baby deficient". If there are no babies this year, the adults may make up for it with some wonderful ops for you....will look forward to seeing them!

Very nice. The low angle really makes the shot. There is a huge dynamic range between the blacks and whites of a Common Loon. A very tough exposure challenge.
