From last month, a setup in a new spot I found. It was very productive on that day with multiple specimens of this species and others that cooperated nicely. I used a small height-adjustable music stand (minus the music sheet tray) and a spring clamp to setup this perch, with the speaker on the ground and to front left of the stand's foot.

    Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/640s., f/8, ISO 400, small crop to help the comp.

Thats a grand looking little fella Daniel.. Love the colour on him and the stem too. Is it really that red ? I would have liked a little bit of something in the back ground but no big deal . Others will love the plainness of it.

    Daniel:

Colorful, well scaled perch. Nice pose, good catchlight. Sharp and well exposed.

    Cheers

Beautiful Daniel, love the bird, love the perch and BG. Your perch appears to be either a Black Raspberry or a Blackberry branch.

Incredibly beautiful shot, Dan. Love the light, the gorgeous colors through out and the wonderful warbler. Perfect head turn. perfect techs. I'd crop a bit from the left. Congrats on this beauty.

Yes, incredible shot for sure. I may be tempted to lighten the mid tones a bit, but that may be personal. Do I see a bit of posterization in the BG or is it me?

Wonderfully pleasing image. Great rich tones and so naturally sharp with a cracker pose. The perch works so well too.

Like the composition, well balanced position of the bird and perch. Great reach tones and color of the bird. Like the eye contact too. Well done! Cheers! Miro.

Very nicely done Dan! IQ is excellent and really like the foliage at front of the perch balancing the image

I recently bought a bluetooth speaker to try luring them in. Are you hiding the speaker in any way or is that not needed?

    Daniel Sir,
Very very sweet image of beautiful bird in beautiful lights. Color of the perch is nicely complimenting with his side-color.
Love the look back pose. Rest as usual superb.

    Regards,
    Satish.

    Thanks gang!

John, yes that stem really is that red...a beautiful deep "wine" red.

Shane, I do not go out of my way to hide the speaker, but I do tuck it in tall grass or behind a log, for example, if available.

Very nice frame Daniel. The colors are awesome and the feather detail looks great. I love that little splash of yellow on it's head.. What a unique perch color and that smooth green BG sets it off nicely.
