Yellow Wagtails where very late returning to my part Of North Lincolnshire and with it being so wet have only just started to use my pool, thinks have improved a bit since it as dried up a bit, but looking out of my study window this afternoon it's pouring down. This is a female taking a bath.
For those with good eyes there is something that looks like a little clock n the splash to the left of the bird or am I seeing things?

Thanks for looking and any critique most welcome.

Pretty neat scene you encountered here! Love the very wet look on the bird. Appealing colours, good low angle. Focus point seems to be on the breast, with it sharper than the face. Also looking a little smooth on the details as if NR was ran on the bird - but I suppose that could also be the wet plumage that gave that impression. I see the "clock" that you mention, a specular highlight that could be removed if you wish...there's a bunch more below the subject too which look like snowflakes.

Hi Keith, something different, both in species & environment, very nice. I like the way the colours of plumage are echoed in the 'habitat' colours too. Well worth getting low, it just pays off. I also like the detail in the eye, just the right amount IMHO. I agree with Daniel about the NR, I think it's just a simple masking issue rather than wet plumage, but could be wrong. Not sure if the whites & Highlights could be pegged back a bit, WDYT? Techs looks good, that D4 is paying off big time Keith, the images are really looking good.

PS How did you get on with monitors, drop me a line when you can.

Hi Keith, I do like the wet look here, and you have brought the plumage nicely. It does seem that the critical part of the focus is on the breast area. The colours in the upper BG compliment the wagtail nicely.

Nice pose and I like bathing shots. I agree that critical focus is on the breast and it also looks a bit bright on my monitor too. Good work. Keep that D4 clickin!!
