Another in a Dicksissel series from the weekend.
Photographed early morning in a wheat field
alongside the Red River here in NW Louisiana.
Decided to leave foliage at bottom so as not to have "bird on a stick",
but did subdue it with a slight gradient overlay

    My standard 400mm w/1.4x, ISO 800, f/10, 1/1250, +1 ev

continued input/ critique much appreciated, I feel my
images have improved considerably thanks to member critique at BPN

I like this a lot. Great bg (esp @ f/10) Just enough foliage for me at the bottom. Don't really think I have a nit on this one. Nicely done.

I really like this. It is such an intimate image. Beautiful background, excellent color and detail in the bird, and a super perch. Love it!

    Very nicely done Dave,
I like it the way it is...:) The colors and details on your bird are great. Razor sharp and good eye contact. The soft background compliments your subject...:D keep them coming...

I really like this image. Great BG, bird is nice and sharp. I like that you left the leaves. The stems draw my eye up to the bird.
