    really nice
    Suggest a little more selective sharpening on cactus and a stringer blur on the bg.

    Head turn and comp are very nice

    Hi Dave: Will give it a go: Selectively sharpened cactus. Maybe too bright now? Didn't understand "stringer blur" (Original BG not blurred) so selectively used Guasian blur on BG, then selectively put BG through Noiseware Pro, and ended up cropping some of bottom cactus. What do you think? . . . Gus

    i like the original crop better. bird doesnt seem as crowded in the frame and the cactus has some character too so i dont mind seeing more of it. the blur in the repost is much better!! you've really got some nice perches with some fairly clean bgs out there. nice job!!

    good morning Gus.....yes, the bg blur is excellent.
    Afraid the cactus has now gotten a bit too sharp and lost tonal quality

    ooops....stringer = stronger

    Very nice Gus,
    I like the original composition better, but with the softer diffused background on the repost... Very nice perch...:D

    Hi Guys, Back to the drawing board . . . This is a very young bird that has been captured and banded. This time I did nothing but cropped, resized & a tad of Smart Sharpen overall . . . As everyone liked the blurred BG, I could do it, but thought I over manipulated the first one. The bird was on a 30' Sahauro, with his young fluffy coat. Thought I might go back this morning (Only 1/4 mi) and catch one in the first rays of sunrise . . Gus

    Hi Gus the light was starting to get harsh. Best to get out first thing and will even be cooler !!! I like last crop eliminating the hot flower but it seemed over sharpened. Did well with the bg looks natural.

    btw remember you can re post the same image but best not to place a new ones. This will be confusing and will be difficult to keep track !!!

    Thanks Al: Just came back from same Sahauro 6: AM till 7: Am. Got a Bonanza, 150 shots, Gila on every set of blooms, European Starling taking over nest on cactus. Then, in flew 2 Harris Hawks, and perched high on swaying Hollywood Cyprerss. Heading up to Madera Canyon for Hummingbirds now. I too felt that harsh light, about 10 ish was culprit. Only sharpening was very min. about 25% Smart Sharpen. Appreciate your comments . . . Later with new thread. . . . Gus :)

    Looking forward to the new images Gus !!! Light is the key Not much you can do with harsh light. At times with strong fill flash you can get some work done !!!

    Hi Kind Folks . . . Appreciate all your gentle (As advertised) critiques. Also would like you to know I'm ashamed to break any rules, and ignorance is not any excuse! This is the first and last time I will ever post 2 different images in the same thread. Shame on me! :o :oplease accept my apologies . . . Gus
