This has such a serene feeling to it, love the bg, pose and composition; good head angle; creamy texture. I understand it's late afternoon sun, hence the yellow cast...I like it, maybe a little more USM to the bird?

very nice Lance...I just converted a copy to sRGB colorspace and it sure has much more
beautiful color than the Adobe RGB......sRGB is preferred for web viewing!!!

HI Dave - thanks for pointing that out - forgot to change it.

Hi Lance, I think you will notice no difference here.
I suspect in photoshop that you.....did "assign profile" rather than "convert to profile"

thanks for sticking with me on this.....so many are missing out on presenting best color rendering

Here is original Nikon Adobe RGB "converted" to profile sRGB

    Congratulations Lance.
I like the composition and exposure. The soft deep blue background compliments your subject very well...:)

Excellent points !!!! Lance can add a comment regarding the light angle. With soft late afternoon light all you needed was to line up. Wish it did not have the shadow !!! Also the image is under exposed. Shooting up late afternoon the -2/3 comp is not going to work !!! Did get a very nice pose with a good head turn. Appealing image !!!

Hi Alfred - maybe the light - but if I went any under -2/3 I got higlight warnings.

Good point about lining up - I did try unfortunatley this was the best angle I could get - due to the placement of trees and the river etc and still keep the light reasonable. I took many shots form different spots etc, but it was very hard to get a clean background and the light in the right place.

    thanks
