A massive crop, I think I have discovered how to get closer - fingers crossed.

Hi Jonathan - Nice light and colors. The wildflowers add nicely to the image. There's one large specular highlight in the middle of top band that I would blend a little more if it were mine. I hope you are successful in getting closer.

    TFS,
    Rachel

I'd be happy to have this one in my files, until that closer one materializes. Look forward to seeing it when it does. Nice hunting pose, foreground and background. I also noticed that highlight that Rachel mentioned, and the grass foreground feels a bit sharpened - maybe just the way the light hits it.

Great timing on this one, Jon...resulting in a super wing position. Love the flower laden foreground.

Hi Jon, I feel the IQ has held up well if you say this is a 'massive crop'. Good hunting pose from the owl, and he pops nicely against the grassy enviroment.

You havent included your camera in your techs, but I presume this was with your 1DX.

Thanks very much everyone, I thought I might have been slated with the crop being to so large! I have been back several times and I got much closer to where the bird had been I managed to hide in the hedgerow.... yup the darn thing has not been back since!
    Stu - yes 1DX.
