    The bird does look afraid. What species is this, looks like European Blackbird but didn't know they had these in New Zealand? The framing and overall lack of color except for the bill, does look a bit Hitchcockian (if I can make up that word). TFS

    Nice -- I like the treatment! I wonder how it would look with a dark vignette at the top and rounded out into the top corners?

    Thanks Paul and Diane Yes it is a blackbird and will try your suggestion Diane
    I printed it on metallic paper and it gave it a whole new dimension I have no data for my printer but printed as for glossy

    It works for me Grahame, I like the look with just the yellow. This is a good use of that technique in my opinion. I like the vignette idea also. When I see birds do this in the wild I think they are looking for raptors or other danger in the sky. The little acorn woodpeckers jump up and down when they see a hawk in the sky.

    Thank you all for your comments when I printed it the print came close to your comments which certaintinally better than the upload. I love this site. I have no idea of species but it was black as black.
