Greetings. One from the archives... at the beginning of my serious interest in photography.
I've always liked this one... worked on it quite a bit with what I'm guessing is 20 or so layers of curves which was my style in those days (this is the original processing from seven years ago). It was a foggy day (typical for Santa Cruz summers), with the sun just starting to show itself at 1pm. There is a certain kind of softness that comes from a fog "filter" with pulled detail from local contrast adjustments in this image that I've tried (and failed) over the years to replicate with just digital filters, so I look to capture it on foggy days.
I've always imagined the easy going calm of the people having the knowledge of the whole summer ahead.
While I like the image design, especially the pattern of the people, the overall look does not do as much for me as it goes for you.
