    Default Big Splash

I photographed the dominant hippo bull in the Hlambanyathi dam of Zimanga Private Game Reserve this weekend doing some dominance displays in late afternoon light. We were lying on the edge of the dam at the water's edge - next to their lagoon hide site which is currently being constructed. This will be a submerged hide with a tunnel entrance from the dry bank for wading birds and eye level shots of hippos etc.

Hi Morkel - Nice low pov (again) and it looks like you had good light. That's a big splash and it looks slightly sharper than the hippo to me but not a deal breaker. Looks like you had a good experience at Zimanga.

    Rachel

    Hi Morkel

Nice dynamics and light here. He looks like a very impressive boy putting on his show. It probably would have more impact for me if you could see the teeth a bit better but I very much like what you have captured anyway.

    regards

Hi Morkel , great timing in capture and nicely processed . Low POV looks very good and the all the splashing water is great.
    Nice work .

Nice light and colors on this one Morkel and I like the visible eye. Being extremely picky, I'd wish that the main splash was higher or lower so one could better see those tusks.
