Horizon might need a tick of anti-clockwise rotaion Rachel... or is it me? Might be tempted to blur the BG and a touch of FG a little more to isolate Mr bear a little more and hide the slight degradation in bokeh (from the 2x TC, one thing TCs are not good at IMO).
Otherwise it is a great polar bear ice-scape, very jealous.

Nice habitat portrait. Like the sky. Yes to a bit of CCW. The thing that bugs me is the near-merge of the bear's nose with the crack in the ice/lead just above its head. Nice walking pose.

Hi Rachel
I love the striding pose and the horizontal cracks forming a nice road for Mr Bear to stride along... I like your crop also and think it works well with said horizontal lines... I agree with it looking like CCW needed (slight)

Nice bearscape here, Rachel. Besides some of the suggestions above, I'd shave some off the bottom to right above the dark patch of ocean you see coming through in the bottom 1/3rd FG.

What a beautiful scene Rachel, I leave the techs to my BPN friends and just wish to say that this has made quite an impression on me. That, apart from a strong desire to visit this amazing land and capture some images myself, although I am sure I could not do it better than you. Well exposed and composed, this image carries me back to the times I used to know ice and snow, to the winters I do not always miss because I can hardly remember them.
Sometimes it's nice to just leave the techs aside ( I can
), and then the sighting becomes more important than the photograph itself. For personal reasons I choose to do so now, and although I have never been there where this image was taken, I have this sudden longing to feel the snow under my feet and travel through landscapes that make me feel small...Very evocative image, hope you all agree?
Warmest regards from wintery (but still so warm) Africa,
