    I captured this image this morning at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida.

    Nikon D7000
    Nikon 70-300mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF shot at 300mm (450mm FFE)

    So nice and sharp. I have lots of opportunity for heron shots but I don't get many when they are taking off or landing.

    Nice, Joseph! Sometimes I wonder about the wisdom of trading in my d7000 for a FF camera (I should have kept it as backup - and it would have made a good 1.5x TC!).

    Very well done Joseph...love the landing pose, details, and the bit of perch that you kept in the frame. Bummer about the shadow on the tip of the far wing (I'm OK with the other shadowed part near the body).
