    This image was created this weekend at the Montecasino Bird Park. It is a captive bird. Canon 7D with 100-400 at 400mm. 1/800, f/8 at ISO800. As framed.

    I really like your composition.
    The black BG is very dramatic.
    Excellent IQ and sharpness.
    I have never seen this bird in real life. The blacks seem to have a bit of gray in them. Is this the way it is or are the blacks a bit washed out on the neck?
    I think you can get a bit more detail in the white area on the RHS.

    Thanks Gail. The neck is a dark grey and the fluff above the bill is black. Are you referring to the white patch above the eye? I will try get some more detail from the RAW file. Thanks for the comments :-)

    Nice portrait with good details and exposure. Good dark BG (but I'd run some NR to the paler part at bottom). It is indeed worth to see if you can extract a bit more detail in the white patch.
