I have said many times that I prefer a little bit of something to convey a kind of sense of being somewhere. This has some detail in the back as opposed to my other one with the plain back drop.
The settings were needed to stop tail flick. White on head a constant pain with these birds but just about held it I think. Will be interesting

Lovely image John, I wish I could get closer to these birds, but up here, they seem to 'smell' you coming . Well done

Nice one John, I am trying to make out what that prey item is? I like the pose, and perch.
As ever I have been singularly unsuccessful in getting an image of a redstart this year, I have been to a couple of places in North Wales but no luck.

Spectacular image of handsome bird. I like the look back pose with prey items in the beak, colors of BG and perch are nicely complimenting with beautiful colors of bird.
    Nice composition too.

    Regards,
    Satish.
