Upland goose portrait
Portrait of a male Upland Goose shot a few weeks ago in a nearby park and in the late afternoon light. I took a few of him and this is my favorite mainly because of the posse.
Comments and critiques are much appreciated.

Different and interesting pose, sharp, with wonderful detail in the whites and darks! Nice light and a very pleasant background.
As framed, for me there is more room than is needed on the top, although allowing room for the text on a magazine cover is always a good idea! The crop feels tight to me on the sides, especially on the left. You could easily add canvas there if there isn't any in the original.

Nicely done in relatively harsh light. Good control of the EXP and detail in the WHITEs. This would work well with a boxy crop with less room above and a lot more room in front of the bird.

Thanks Diane, i had the same thoughts regarding the space on top, but not on the left.. I could have zoomed out and included more space on the left.. Thanks once more

Thanks Arthur, this was made in about an hour before sunset. As for the crop i will remind that for the next one. i wanted to include the lower part of the neck and the full head, just didn't include enough space on the left.
I`m from Portugal, and one of your blog followers. Thanks for the feedback.

Luis,
I like the S Curve in the neck. The bird is very sharp and the background nice and smooth. Did you ever consider cropping it down to an 8x10 size to see how it looks without the extra room above its head?

Thanks for the feedback Dave, i haven`t cropped it but sounds like a good option. Will try to see the final result.
