I think this is a great image...! its full of menace and shows off the snake pretty nicely IMHO. Never seen one of these but I think the exposure could go down just a touch, it looks a bit bright.
Hi Enrique - I'm glad you were using the 500 and 1.4, I wouldn't want to get too close to one of these. Great pose and I like your choice for dof with the head and coil in focus and the tail oof. Nice low pov also. Light looks like it may have already been a bit harsh but handled well.
Lovely shot he really looks like he should not be fooled around with! Excellent low angle and the tongue is great. I too wondered about making it just a little less bright and possibly increasing contrast a little bit?
Wow! The head, the eye, the tongue flicking out plus the rattle all showing! Great (and brave) capture! I'm pretty sure I would not get low on the ground to take this image, large lens or not. Nice that this bad boy was on gravel and not hiding in lots of distracting and difficult vegetation.
Hi Enrique great rattle snake shot , all coming together the comp , color , contrast and the pose and tongue sticking out ……….. priceless. Low POV , list could be longer.
In a real nice world , the snake would have not lying on the road , or dirt track , but no deal breaker .
Very nicely done. Love the position of the tail. Wish that the head were raised to separate it from the body. Tongue and low perspective right on. LLC is a bit probelmatic. Easy to fix if you like with e flopped, warped Quick Mask of the opposite corner....

Great snake image, getting low does SO much for images like this. DOF is nice too. Next time just reach out and gently push the snake's head up a little for some separation, and maybe shoot it with a 17-55. But seriously, the bright image conveys a hot, dry, mid-day encounter. I'd love to come across an animal like this.
